In early December four members of the Clubs junior section attended trials for the Caley Highlanders, the regional performance squad for our area and became the first from our Club to make the grade. Callum B made the full squad at U16s Ryan G made the development squad at U14s Eve M and Marley S both made the Female U18s full squad A great achievement for both the players and their coaches, the start of their performance pathway and hopefully one day we'll see one pull on that Scotland Jersey!!
2018 has brought new happenings to the club in the form of a new section added to the cricket club as we look to diversify and bring more opportunities for our rural community to get fit, socialise and gain new skills. VX is the new sport and its proving a hit with the women, small numbers just now but we expect this to grow so keep a look out for more updates. The month of January has seen us run taster sessions to give players the basic skills and they have had a laugh learning & keen for more!
Its been a busy period over the winter and a load of fun indoors with the Centurions and 1st team.
The Kwiks competed well finishing mid table in their league and the 1st team currently sit top of theirs having won 3 out of the 4 games so far.
We had the pleasure of hosting Scotland International Chris Sole for an evening where he presented the Girls with the Boys v Girls Trophy and behind the scenes we are working hard to get training facilities here in Callander. 2018 promises to be a good one
